Starts Monday, April 14!
Perhaps you have a loved one that will soon be exiting treatment or sober living. Or maybe your person has found a pathway to recovery by themselves. Either way, you may be feeling both comforted and relieved that they have stopped their use and are working on maintaining their sobriety.
But at this early stage, you may also be feeling a little uncertain. You may be wondering, “How do I continue to help? What comes next?”
You don’t have to journey this next phase alone. Help is here for this crucial time.
This 10-week online virtual family program will help you take the right next step. This group coaching program offers a safe and supportive space for you to learn how to support your loved one during the early stages of recovery.
Recovering from substance use disorder is a family endeavor. Research shows that incorporating family members and family education into addiction recovery positively impacts both the individual in recovery and the family members.

Meet your Family Recovery Coach
I’m Laurie Healy and I'm a family member in recovery. What that means to me is that I've learned how to heal from the disease of addiction within my family and that anyone struggling with this disease — just like any other disease — is worthy of love, support, and appropriate medical care. It means that I no longer let the shame and stigma of addiction keep me hidden in the dark, and it means that I seek to help other families that are still struggling to understand that there is help and hope within reach.
I’ve helped parents, spouses, siblings, and friends navigate their most-treasured and important relationships with their loved ones when addiction has threated to overtake. As a CRAFT-certified coach and Certified ARISE Interventionist and Comprenhensive Care Strategist, I work with my clients to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and strategies they need to help their loved one reduce or stop their substance use and seek support. I am also the Family Recovery Director for Lion House Brownstone, a women’s recovery residence in St. Paul, where I work daily with the women and their families to help them restore their relationships and build a loving and supportive recovery-centric dynamic in the family.
Having a family member in recovery is such a gift. Our role in how we support their recovery matters. When families learn how to recover together, they start to transform their brokenness and mistrust into resiliency, love, compassion, and healthy communications.
My life pursuits include traveling as much as I can (preferably in my RV with my dog and my family) or to a far-flung destination where I can practice my Spanish or Portuguese. You’ll likely find me on land or water, either hiking the trails or kayaking the lakes of Minnesota. I love to read, have just started to master some basic knitting and beading projects, and my craziest hobby is fire-spinning, which both thrills and terrifies me!
I’d love for you to be part of this group and engage with others who have a similar understanding of what you may be walking through. If you feel as though you want to be the best version of yourself in order to support your loved one, what are you waiting for? It’s time. If you have questions, reach out here. Otherwise, let’s get started!
Why Group Coaching Works
If this is your first time signing up for a group coaching course, you may have some questions. Research has shown that group coaching can lead to a number of positive outcomes, including:
Increased self-awareness and personal development. Group coaching can provide a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to learn from the experiences of others. This can lead to a deeper understanding of oneself and one's strengths and weaknesses, as well as to the development of new skills and perspectives.
Improved communication and teamwork skills. Group coaching can help individuals develop their communication skills by providing opportunities to practice these skills in a supportive environment. This can be especially beneficial for individuals who need to communicate effectively with crucial conversations.
Enhanced problem-solving and decision-making skills. Group coaching can help individuals develop their problem-solving and decision-making skills by providing opportunities to brainstorm solutions to challenges and to get feedback from others. This can lead to new ways of thinking, as well as to increased confidence in making decisions.
Increased motivation and accountability. I’m not gonna lie - this is hard work! Group coaching can help individuals stay motivated and accountable for pushing ahead by providing a supportive community and regular check-ins. This can be especially helpful for individuals who are struggling to make progress on their own.
